Does the resource group "forum Moderators" that's added when installing discuss with the demo data actually do anything by default, or do you have to go in an amend permission so it can login to the manager?

Is the only way to edit the forum via modx manager or is there an edit button somewhere when view the forum itself?

    Cheers

When you log into the forum as admin or mod there should be a bar at the bottom of the browser window that gives you options

Hmm not seeing anything. Tried loggin in as admin and forum mod.

I'm using discuss 1.1 which was installed via package management.

Would i need to make any adjustments to the access controls?

From what I know it will only show when needed, so go into a forum and then a post and it should show.

Thanks paulp, i wasn't actually drilling down into posts. Only viewing the index page of the forum, can see it now.

As this doesn't give me as many options as i'd like, the next question is, is the only way to manager users and create new boards via modx manager.

Basically what i want is a user that manages the forum only so they can create/deletes users and manage the boards etc but have no access to the rest of the site

I'm guessing i'm going to have to set up a some access control with very basic permissions. So they can only view the discuss component and add new users. I can't remember off hand if i can limit what user groups they are able to add users to.

            Thanks again.

EDIT: Actually i'm only seeing the menu if i'm logged in as admin, not a user with mod permissions.

Adding the user to the Administrator admin group also works. So trying to figure out what additional permission is needed to see mod bar.

Ok after a few hours messing around with permissions i found that I actually need to add a mod to the board via the CMP. So now i get the edit bar at the bottom appear, but it's missing "Remove Thread" and "Mark As Spam".

                What makes these appear?
