  • Hmm! I don't know why that fixed it either, but I'm glad you've got it working now. Two things you might watch out for:

    1. If you're using the same images on different pages and have phpthumbof.hash_thumbnail_names set to No (the default) in System Settings / phpthumbof, then phpthumbof is actually creating a different–identical in all but the file name–version of each image for each page, which means more work for the server and also that a visitor to your site has to download tons more images since their browser can't get an image once, then have it cached for the rest of the pages that same image is used on. Here's a discussion of the problem and a fix: https://github.com/splittingred/phpThumbOf/issues/48
    2. You may not want to call getImageList uncached like that. I thing the rtfm page shows it that way in the examples, but in most cases it only slows things down. There are some instances where you need it; it's just more common that you wouldn't.

Anyone have an idea what could be different or how I can manipulate it to the way I want?

Sounds a lot like the issue I had - it was related to a change in modx core files: http://forums.modx.com/thread/81134/error-with-phpthumbof-force-aspect-ration#dis-post-447182
