I have moved my site from one directory ("testsite") to the root directory. On my config.inc file I simply removed all the term "/testsite" from all URL paths.

It works ok but for 2 things:

1: I cannot access manager anymore: theres just a blank page.

2: Wayfinder has not updated - it still references the old path.

Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

    Thanks!

Did you just move the site? Or did you follow all the instructions here?

No I didnt follow that as I am not changing servers - just directories on the same server. The site uses the same database and everything, just the URLS need to change from mysite.com/testsite/mypage to mysite.com/mypate

Lot's of things besides the URLs need to change. Your site is in a completely different location.

          • The four config.core.php files likely have the wrong path to the core
          • In config.inc.php, you have to change the paths in addition to the URLs
          • The path in the MODX workspaces table needs to be changed.

Running setup in upgrade mode might take care of everything for you.

Thanks Bob, but no luck at all. I just a Access Forbidden error on all pages.

I think I am going to have to reinstall ModX in the root from scratch but link it to the old database

If the message is actually "Access Forbidden" it suggests a problem with the permissions or ownership of the directories and/or files -- that's not a MODX message (you'd be seeing "Access Denied" from MODX). I'd compare the file and directory permissions with those in the working site.

I found it was an old ht.access file that was not allowing any .php files that was causing the Access issues.

I still could not get the site running though... What I ended up doing was reinstalling ModX completely. I had to make a new Database for the install, but once I had it up, I just switched the database username, password and name for the old one. I then reinstalled the missing packages.

I have no idea why the site was behaving the way it was before...

It deserves to be noted that moving from one directory to another, even on the same server is largely the same as moving from one server to another. Except no need to move the database.
