As far as I'm aware I did all the right things i.e flush cache, flush permissions, flush sessions (which log you out), then upgraded.
After the upgrade I'm told that the account could not be located. The password reminder doesn't work, or at least the credentials and activation link it provides still don't work.
:-(
Thanks. Unfortunately that method died with Evo.
Is there nothing more update?
I don't really understand how it happened since everything was flushed 'according to the console anyway'
Did you clear your browser cache and cookies? A leftover cookie can cause all kind of trouble.
Also, see this:

Another method is to create another installation of MODX somewhere and copy all the fields of the first record of the modx_users table from the working site to the non-working site.
I have seen a couple of reports from other people for whom the admin user just didn't get fully created during setup.
This is so frustrating. Nothing works.
I have a good modx installation and exported the users table and overwrote the user table in the bad installation, but still I can't log in.
I can't even get it to send me the lost password link. It says that there are no users with that email. The thing is I can blatantly see that there is a user with that email when looking in the database.
So your site works except for logging in? The front-end is all okay? .htaccess, friendly url and all?
Did you back-up your database before upgrading, assets and personal folders?
If so, your database (of that date), should still be fine.
Install a brand new copy of the latest MODx somewhere, and test your database just to make sure.
If you can log in, then I am sure you know what to do from there.
Use another clean separate browser.
PHYSICALLY empty the Cache folder.
Make sure all the needed EXTRAS are available in the new MODx, LOGIN extra...and so forth.
DOUBLE check you are actually typing correctly: email and password and username. The mistakes we make! they can be a lot.
TinymceWrapper: Complete back/frontend content solution.
Harden your MODX site by
passwording your three main folders:
core, manager, connectors and renaming your
assets (thank me later!)
5 ways to sniff / hack your own sites; even with renamed/hidden folders, burst them all up, to see how secure you are not.
You could have a missing or corrupted file in the upgrade. This is fairly common if you used FTP to transfer the files individually.
