Properly introducing myself and my second MODX Revo. site

Hi Everyone,

I posted a while back seeking assistance for a MOD Revo site I was building for a client. However, I never really introduced myself, which is just bad manners. So here I go with some long overdue and proper introductions.

I'm Gordon, and this is my site Left & Right [http://leftandrightlabs.com]. This is only my second MODX site so let me know what you think.

I'm primarily a web developer but I'm really leaning towards web design as opposed to development. I'm coming from an ExpressionEngine background and honestly, I've had my eye on MODX for a while, so I'm really happy my last client gave me the opportunity I needed to make the switch.

I really love MODX, despite the initial frustrating learning curve, but now that I'm over that hill I can't wait to see what else I find as I continue to build with it!

I have read your text under articles on your website: "I'm not an amazing web designer. . . . . . . ." People reading that text on your website will think you are going through some kind of emotional developers phase. With that kind of text on your website, you are digging your own business grave. I advise you to take that text away as soon as possible! Replace it with why clients should choose you as their website builder and keep that text short and clear! Put your portfolio on top of that. Building a website for clients is business with a lot of competition, with your road map to the end product, with deadlines, with a contract, and with real money. Thanks for the welcome Bob! Your blog was quite helpful in helping me understand MODX's security.

@sitecms, thanks for the feedback and taking the time to look at my website. I hadn't thought about what you said before so I'm glad you brought it up. You're absolutely right about it being too negative for potential clients. As for the portfolio, that will come in time. I'm more focused on making a digital presence at the moment but for sure that's in the cards.

This series of articles taught me a great deal about "marketing" myself - or at least it would if I were actually interested in doing so. But I've recommended them to others, who were quite pleased with them.
