i’d like to know if it’s possible to force modx to show an unpublished document in a specific folder without getting a 404 error.
Is there a snippet for it?

I’m not sure what purpose you have envisioned here, but unpublished means it is not available for viewing, though with admin privileges, you can see all unpublished documents before publishing them. I can see no practical purpose for this, so maybe if you explain what you are attempting to do, some alternative ideas can be suggested.
