Ok this is an odd one. I have Modx running locally using an installation of XAMPP on a Windows laptop. The software works fine in IE6 and the Windows version of Safari for what it’s worth. However, two big issues are happening in Firefox 2.0.0.7

    1) When I login into the /manager/ section and navigate to my user defined templates, I get the following error message when I try to view/edit the template:

    Oops, something went terribly wrong...
No database record has been found for this template.
    Aborting.

    2) When I browse the site on the front end as a user in Firefox, the templates do not change when I click on different pages from the nav. I see the page ID’s change:
    http://localhost/projectname/index.php?id=2
    http://localhost/projectname/index.php?id=4
    http://localhost/projectname/index.php?id=15

But the homepage template doesn’t change, nor does the content within the page.
These two issues only happen in Firefox. I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox, but the issues remain. huh

This issue hasn’t happened in the past with Modx. One of two things that I think might be the root of this could be the following:

    1) I switched Modx to run PHP 5.2.2 in order to use a locally hosted piece of software called activecollab.
    2) I enabled INNODB (http://www.innodb.com/) as it was required to run that same piece of software.

Could one of these two be the issue? Any insight that anyone could give me would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    Regards,
    Matt

Are you logged into the manager with IE when checking, but not firefox? If so, your pages probably are not published, and thus you get the 404 page on every request from Firefox, because you do not have a manager user session in that browser (which allows you to view unpublished pages).

It behaves the same way both logged in and logged out in Firefox. I’m also making sure that I’m logged out of IE just to be on the safe side. I don’t see a 404 error page at all. I just see the homepage reloading regardless of what page I navigate too with the navigation.

Check the setting in Tools > Configuration > Error Page

If nothing is configured there, it defaults to the homepage. That’s why you don’t see a 404 page.

Unfortunately, if your pages are published and it works fine in IE when logged out but not in Firefox, I have no clue. It’s unlikely to be related to your php or mysql settings, as that stuff is handled by the server and what’s sent to the browser is the same, no matter which browser you use.

If something weird like that happens, standard procedure is emptying the site cache, deleting cookies, and emptying the browser cache.
