Rich text variable within a link type template

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a rich text template variable on a link type template?

Sorry I mean a Weblink, instead of a normal Document

Yes, you can have TVs for weblinks. However, a weblink redirects to another page, so a TV edited for the weblink resource would not apply on the same TV for the target resource.

We've got a template variable with the input option set to be a rich text field and it's fine in normal documents, but that template variable doesn't show a rich text editor on weblink templates.

Hm. Could be because weblinks don't have a content field and so don't get the Rich Text setting applied to them.
