    I have inherited the management of our site and our web users are getting the following error message when trying to login:

    « MODx Parse Error »
    MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
    Error: Function split() is deprecated
    Error type/ Nr.: - 8192
    File: /home/httpd/vhosts/harmony-healthcare.com/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php
    Line: 844
    Line 844 source: $tempSnippetParams= split($splitter, $tempSnippetParams);

    Parser timing
    MySQL: 0.0014 s (3 Requests)
    PHP: 0.0250 s
    Total: 0.0264 s

    I am way out of my comfort zone here so if anyone can tell me why this might be happening and more importantly what I can do to resolve it I would be forever grateful!

    Thanks,

          You need to upgrade your MODX installation. 0.9.6.x is not compatible with PHP 5.3.

          Here are a few links, that may be of help:

            We always recommend making sure you are on the latest version of MODX. If you are unable to manage the upgrade (which may be tricky due to the serious age of the site) many folks here can help your organization do it relatively easily and affordably. MODX Evolution is currently now at 1.0.8 and has many security fixes as well.

              Hello,

              Your issue is due to the age of your MODX install as noted above. You need to be running at least 1.0.6 for php 5.3 support and at least 1.0.8 (current) to protect against all of the known exploits.

              On the bright side you should be able to upgrade directly to 1.0.8 with only minor adjustments - using wayfinder for the menu and updating your search call with the new parameter names.

              If you would rather someone else perform the upgrade let me know, I've done a lot of Evolution upgrades lately.
