    hi all
i’ve ported a live site over to another server for test and training purposes - the port went fine - but all links on the test site point back over to the equivalent page on the live site.
i’ve looked at .htaccess and config_inc.php but can’t see any reference to the live site ... i don’t know where else to look.
the site uses furl’s and wayfinder navigation.

    can anyone advise???
    thanks in advance

You just need to run the installer in upgrade mode so it refreshes your cache... or, if you can already access the manager fine, just use the Refresh Cache option.

thanks for the reply, sorry for not getting back before now.
i cleared the cache and in the status bar on rollover the links now state the correct address on the testing server ... but ... the page which actually loads is the homepage of the ’host’ site minus stylesheet! - i’ll give an example:

        > test site hosted in subdirectory /cmstestsite/ on host site server (e.g. hostsite.co.uk/cmstestsite)
        > i rollover link on testsite e.g. hostsite.co.uk/cmstestsite/testpage1.html
        > link resolves to the hostsite.co.uk/cmstestsite/testpage1.html address - but...
        > homesite.co.uk index page loads without its’ stylesheet, not the actual ’cmstestsite’ page indicated in the link

as an idea i could create a new sub-domain at the hostsite and port the testsite there - e.g. testsite.hostsite.co.uk

        what do you think?
        thanks in advance

That would probably work much better; otherwise, you’re going to have to figure out how to prevent the .htaccess rules from conflicting since you are using friendly URLs, and especially if you are using alias paths. It can probably be done as a subdirectory, but I personally always create a separate virtual host config for the subdomain pointing at a separate location on the filesystem, rather than an embedded directory or an existing domain.

I’ll create the new sub-domain - life has enough headaches as it is without trying to re-train .htaccess rules!

The new subdomain will have to wait until monday, but i will certainly post results here.
            Thanks again for your advice
