Hello,
I've installed and tried out the GroupEletters add-on. Great add-on! I can successfully subscribe users but I can't get the newsletter to be send out. I tried sending out a Test newsletter and it was successful.
I tried creating a page with the snippet 'GroupEletterQueue' and view that page but nothing got sent.
Then, I've installed the Cron Manager with the following command something like that in a shared hosting env "/hsphere/shared/php5/bin/php-cli -q /hsphere/local/home/test.com/assets/components/cronmanager/cron.php"
However, I still don't get email.
What I am doing wrong? I'd really like to be able to use this add-on
Thank you for your help
Is anyone using this add-on?
Thanks
I use Subscribe, EmailResource, and Notify to send stuff out.
Check the email From field. Some hosts are very picky about what it contains. The host may also step in if you're trying to send too many emails at once.
You could also try using SMTP, if you're not already. Just set the MODX SMTP System Settings.
Thanks, I'll look into Subscribe then
Subscribe handles the registration. EmailResource sends out the NewsLetter. Notify sends out a *link* to the NewsLetter (or any arbitrary message to users).
I have a newsletter defined as a document. Can I use Notify to send out the document (resource)?
Thanks

No, EmailResource will send out the document as an Email (with some conversion for the email format). Notify will send a *link* to the resource. Neither will send the document as an attachment. Both will send selectively based on user groups and user-interest tags.
