Block traffic crom specifi url

    Hi,


    I am receiving huge traffic from different url.


    Is there a way to block these url ? Can I do it with Rampart, or should I edit my .htaccess file ?

      .htaccess will prevent the IP from accessing MODx at all. With Rampart, MODx first has to be evoked and begin processing.

        I wish Rampart had a way to block posts or user's who enter specific website addresses. I'm getting pounded daily by some Wordpress 101 Tips website.

        Is the only way to stop this would be to block the offending I.P.?

          You can block the IP, or you can block referral traffic from specific sites using htaccess.

# Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} dodgysite\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} anotherdodgysite\.com
RewriteRule .* - [F]


          order allow,deny
deny from 123.45.6.7
deny from 999.88.7.
allow from all


          In the IP blocking, leaving off the last number will block the entire range within 999.88.7.
