I'm trying to set up Discuss based on the default installation. I can create new boards, but some don't show up and those that do redirect to the home page when you click on them.
Hovering shows a url like this: mysite.com/board/2/topicname
The board resource has no children. Should it?
Any other clues appreciated.

I gave up on Discuss and just went with Quip (which I couldn't get to do threading).
I wasn't aware that Discuss was ever an Evo application.

I just started to explore discuss, so I know very few till now. But how to get it run is quite easy:
- install discuss (with "everything"), Login, FormIt
- copy the rewrite rules into .htaccess (I didn't tried cloud till now)
- build a custom login resource
- enter resource-ids of discuss resource and login resource in system settings (discuss.forums_resource_id, discuss.login_resource_id)
After that, the forum works. There is still a lot to do to customize everything, but the core is working fine.

it's not, it's just a third party plugin that you can use on any site.
I had it installed on an Evo site, and although it worked ok as a commenting system I eventually removed it.
The problem I have with it and most similar third party tools such as social sharing bars such as Meebo are: (...)
