Tried to install the lastest MODX Revo manually on my netvirtue.com.au host. I couldn't get it to connect or login to a database. So then I decided to use scriptaculous to install it for me. Once installed, I can use the menu's and what not, but whatever I do just makes everything from the menu down a blank document. Any ideas?
    • You'll need to turn off .css and .js compression; if you can't see the System Settings page in the Manager you'll have to get into the database to set these to 0 instead of 1.

I worked it out eventually by reinstalling. I'll have to ask my host to increase the suhosin variable to 4096 like the installer said. For the meantime i'll just make do with this fix. Cheers.
        • I rather imagine your original problem was that they are using a separate server for the database server instead of "localhost"; if you look in the core/config/config.inc.php file you'll see what the actual database server is.
