As the title says, I am looking for the proper permissions needed to get ModX Revo to install and run properly on IIS 7.5 (Windows Server 2008 R2). I've been getting 500 errors running the installation, and as always with Windows, my guess is it is a permissions problem. I've played with the permissions some, but no luck yet.

(If it matters, the Revo version is 2.0.7. Yes I know it's old. I plan to move to the new version, but need to get this version working first.)

    Server Setup:
    Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
    IIS 7.5
PHP 5.4.10 installed as Fast-CGI (from the PHP site, not the Microsoft Web Platform Installer variant)
    MYSQL 5.5.28

    Thanks in advance!

I never got 2.0.7 to install, but 2.2.6 (current version at this writing) installs beautifully on the above server setup. No warnings, nothing but green light success messages. And everything seems to work after it is done.

        The permissions I used were
IUSR: Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Write
        for the entire site directory.

Then I just stripped it back to Read&Execute and List Folder Contents for the core/core.config.php file after the install.

Note: giving these rights to only the core/config, core/cache, and core/packages directories permitted an installation just fine, but several other directories needed write access for package installation/management, so I gave write/modify access to the whole site.

Friendly URLS using the Microsoft URL Rewrite Module works perfectly too.

Hope this might help someone in the future.
