Yea, as stated in the above posts, the [[!SimpleSearchForm? &tpl=`SimpleSearchTpl`]] snippet uses a default tpl called
SimpleSearchTpl, look for it in the chunks under
SimpleSearch Category. It contains your normal html form with a few things added
It should look like
