Hi, I've created a site using revo 2.2.4 but I can't navigate to my files on the server using the files browser? I simply have a folder called 'Media' that does not open?

    Any help please? Thanks.

Did you check relative paths in your site and compare them with the
Filemanager path in Filemanager settings ?

I think I've got it right. Below shows the two that have got values set to YES. BTW, they all have 'deprecated' in brackets next to them? Apologies for being such a noob, do I need to add a path/URL somewhere so the files can be found?

        File Manager Path
File Path Manager Relative - YES
        File Manager URL
File Manager URL Relative - YES

This is where you configure it in Evo but I am sure the configuration locations will be pretty much the same in Revo:
Tools => Configuration => Interface & Features => File base path
Tools => Configuration => Interface & Features => File Browser URL
Tools => Configuration => File Manager => File Manager path
Find more about this in a basic Revo website setup guide.

think, you have to set up a Media Source
              Revolution 2.2.6

Yes since Revo 2.2 Media Sources are introduced. Is that how you configure file base path - file browser url and file manager path in Revo ? [ed. note: sitecms last edited this post 13 years, 8 months ago.]

Yes, filemanager_* settings are no longer used in Revo 2.2, instead they are configured per media source via Tools > Media Sources.

How are your media sources configured @mpxedwards?

                  Thanks for the progress.

I set the 'basePath' and 'baseUrl' properties to "assets/" as per a tutorial on the Modx site. Unfortunately, still no files appearing in files browser, any more suggestions?

I've even changed the use_multibyte to No, still no files appearing. Any more suggestions please?

Here are a few things you might try to get a better understanding of the problem:

If you open up Developer Tools or Firebug in your browser and go to the MODX file manager, you should see a request for connectors/browser/directory.php. The request and response might give you some clues about what's going wrong. Normally the request to directory.php returns a listing of subdirectories in JSON format.

Can you upload a file? If so, FTP or SSH to your server and see where the file ended up.

Check MODX_ASSETS_PATH in core/config/config.inc.php. Make sure it's right and that the user PHP is running as has read/write/execute permissions on that directory. On the subject of PHP, if you go to Reports > System Info and view phpinfo(), what does it say the Server API is? If it says 'Apache 2.0 Handler' then you'll likely have to set 777 permissions on that directory.

Create a new directory in your web root via FTP. Say, 'testdir'. Put an image in it and make sure you can see it in your browser ( http://yoursite.com/testdir/someimage.jpg ). Make sure the directory has the proper permissions for whoever PHP is running as. Create a Media Source for the new directory:
                      basePath: testdir/
                      basePathRelative: Yes
                      baseUrl: testdir/
                      baseUrlRelative: Yes
Go to the file browser and switch to the new media source. Does it have the same problem?
