the field shouldn't get updated, as soon as there is a value in it. It doesn't get updated on mine.
The first time, as long, as its empty, it gets the unixtime as static value.
Not sure, if I did change anything, regarding the default-value-handling, so it does not work on your version, but only on the current github-version.
