    Hi guys!
    After a long time of using MODx 0.9.2.1 I have installed MODx 0.9.6.
    All was OK but recently when I was working with MODx I closed browser without clicking button "Log Out".
    After it I have tried to login again and I have received a very strange error: "Install/update on this site was executed, please login again!".
    And now I can not login to MODx. This error appears again. It sounds funny but I have no even folder "install" (it was removed after MODx installation).
    How can I delete this error and log in to the CMS? What could cause the given error and how can I avoid this?
    Thank you.

      This issue has been resolved by itself.. After 1 hour I tried to log in and I did it. No errors appeared.
      I’m very surprised by this issue. What was it? smiley
      And it wouldn’t have such issues on the working website..

        Probably something to do with the stale cookies in your browser, or a stale session file. If you don’t log out, the cookie isn’t cleared properly, and the session isn’t cleared either.

          No this is actually a new feature which is supposed to force users to logout during or after an upgrade to avoid problems with stale session data existing prior to upgrade. Strange behavior in this case indeed though...

            I’m very sorry... but this error appears again sad
            Yesterday MODx worked normally but today when I have tried to login... And now i can not login.
            How can I disable this "feature"? Where is file in system that generates it?
            UPD.: It can not depend on the browser because I received this error in FF, then I opened IE and there was the same error.
            UPD.2: When I’m trying to log in I see in database table "modx_manager_log" a new record with each new attempt (message: Logged in). I hope this will help to find solution.

              Well.. I found solution.
              I deleted this "feature" and now MODx are working good.
              In the file accesscontrol.inc.php I deleted this code:
              	// andrazk 20070416 - notify user of install/update
              	if (isset($_GET['installGoingOn'])) {
              		$installGoingOn = $_GET['installGoingOn'];
              	}
              	if (isset($installGoingOn)) {
              		switch ($installGoingOn) {
              		 case 1 : $modx->setPlaceholder('login_message',$_lang["login_cancelled_install_in_progress"].$_lang["login_message"]); break;
              		 case 2 : $modx->setPlaceholder('login_message',$_lang["login_cancelled_site_was_updated"].$_lang["login_message"]); break;
              		}
              	}

              I think correct work of MODx won’t depend on it.

                If you upgrade and people don’t logout, you’re potentially going to have problems with their stale session data, so this really should stay in the product. We need to figure out why it is indicating that your install is being executed; once you attempt to login once after the upgrade, it should make it available again.

                Is it possible someone could be executing your install script again or it was not able to complete normally the first time?

                  Hello, OpenGeek!
                  Thank you for your replies.

                  No, it isn’t. I have installed MODx on my local PC and only I have access to it.
                  Also as I wrote before I removed folder "install" after MODx installing.

                  or it was not able to complete normally the first time
                  No, MODx has been installed normally without any errors or smth else.
