I've got a site running MODX 2.2.4-pl and we launched a campaign the other day and had 14K hits in a day. When we got the traffic, the server came to a crawl. The server is a 24 core dedicated server (more than enough horsepower) with a memory limit of 128M. I compressed all the js and css on the page, but there's definitely a decent amount of large images downloading on the page. I don't think it was the large images that were the issue, but something more with MODX. It got so bad that we had to pull the page out of MODX and just load it into a plain HTML page. At that point the server speed up and the load time on the page was perfect. Overall this site's load time is not that fast even with low traffic (the site averages about 2K hits a day) which really surprises me considering the strength of the server. Either something is configured wrong in MODX or on the server, but I'm not sure. Curious if anyone in the community has found a way to speed up a site. The page in MODX is set to "cacheable", so as far as I know the page is cached.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's amazing how much difference it makes when I step back from the code, take a breath and then come back later to view it. One of our devs on the team had put a fair amount of code for MIGX as uncached which is the problem I believe. I removed the uncached "!" declaration and I believe that should fix the issue.
