I find working with Revolution very frustrating to use -- why does it reload everything every time I save or do anything and how do I make it stop doing this?

Do you mean MODx Manager? You would probably like to use AjaxManager. Be careful - read installation instructions and don't try to install it if you will not be able to restore /manager/ folder using ftp in case of failed installation/deinstallation.

Hi there. Yes, MODx manager keeps reloading pretty much everything. I find it infuritating, especially waiting for the sidebar (tree of elements/components, snippets and chunks) to load even if I make the slightest change.

If AjaxManager is potentially dangerous, I'll just leave it as it is and try to work with it. But thanks for the idea though

You get used to it after a while. Being winter, it's a good opportunity to take a couple of sips of something hot, and in the summer likewise for something cold! The opportunity to glance out the window for a second or two keeps me from straining my eyes staring at the screen too much, too wink

Because everything may have changed, but in most cases MODX wont know what (if it does, it only refreshes for example part ofthe tree).

And there are times when it should but doesn't, and you end up having to manually refresh the tree or the whole site to get the main menu options (like when installing a new component!)
