  • Definitely media sources and static elements. I was also interested in custom resources, although for various reasons the flagship Articles custom resource ended up something of a disappointment - it does too much for my taste. MIGXdb has more than made up for that, though.

Thanks for your info about this. I don't make complex websites, would it be ok to stay with Evo ? I'm still hooked to Evo's speed and simplicity.
      • Evo is fine, it will probably do all you want it to do.

I think you could use Quip to do most of what you need, actually. Alternatively you could make something custom (a formit form?) that stores testimonials in a MIGX tv; that's what I do on my site except I don't let others add their own testimonials; I collect them myself.

Oh and if you can, use the latest Revo (2.2.6 currently) and not 2.0 wink

I've looked through the add-ons and don't see Quip available for download (from within MODx) as an individual item. I found it as part of the Essentials for Blogging package that you're the keeper of, but I could not get that package to install correctly.

As an aside - the Archivist package installed, but it installed an older version than what was supposed to have been included in the package.
          • It probably won't let you download Quip because your version of Revo can't run it.
Note: 1.2.1 and above work only for MODx Revolution 2.0.5 and later.

Ok... I've been working for a couple of days on getting the 2.2.6 code up and running and putting my content into it. I've now added Quip, and have no idea how to allow posting of threads while also requiring moderation.

I've been looking at the documentation but I do not see anything that helps me understand how to prevent anyone from creating a new thread except for myself and also how to allow replies to my thread but to require my approval before they will be posted.

Can anyone help? My site does NOT use logins.
