    Hi guys and gals,

I’m probably posting this in the wrong place, but here goes.

I’m an etomite convert to ModX, and think it’s great and have had much success with it - learning a few tips and tricks here and there.

I’ve got a couple of questions though, that I haven’t been able to find snippets that will do the job, or features I haven’t seen yet here.

My biggest one is about mailing list with multiple lists. - such as with phplist.

I’m currently redeveloping a music chart site and there are several newsletters you can sign up to.

I have seen the currentl mailing list snippet, but what I was really hoping for was for people to signup as web users and then go and select which newsletters they wanted to subscribe to, such as in a profile editer of some sort.

I had a really quick look at the PEeditor, but I don’t know if it can do it.

Does anyone know if this type of feature exists already, or should I hit the php books?

I read this list, but it seems the thread stopped, with no conclusion.

    Many thanks in advance.

    - Steve.

I’ve got a site using my (rather simplistic) KoopsMailinglistX snippet/module for three mailing lists; I just install Koops three times, with each one in its own folder in the assets/modules folder, and three modules, each one pointing to its folder. The signup/unsubscribe form processor simply uses a "switch" structure to refer to the appropriate path to the proper folder for each list selected. Kind of a kludge, but it works just fine.

        Hi Sue,

Thanks for your suggestion. I actually did have a quick look at your implementation.

Now though, after having a bit of a grasp of WebLoginPE, (from the help of DrScotty), I’ve been able to figure a bit more.

I think what I’ll do is use the WebloginPE features and add each mailing list as a new user option, then I’ll hack your mailing list to read the amount of mailing lists, and then do a mailing list if statement.

so... in the admin section of Xoops, a list will appear of all the possible mailing lists. You then choose the one you want to use.

if a user has clicked on say, the music mailing list, but not sports, then the Xoops will only send the music list to that user that they have selected.

I hope you understand what I’m talking about. I really just thrashing out some ideas as to how it will hopefully will work.

        wish me luck.... ha ha

        Steve.

            Hi Sue and MotSmart,

Well, I’ve successfully done it now! grin grin grin
I feel rather pleased now! As ambitious as it was... it’s done!

I used Easy Newsletter .3 as the building blocks, printed out all the code and figured out the flow of it all.
Very well written I must say. Confusing! But still a good work.

I’ll be posting the modified code shortly after I make a few notes for the installation instructions and things like that.

I think I’ll call it Easy Multiple Mailing Lists or something like that...

I’ve done if so it incorporates WebLoginPE 1.2.0. Thanks DrScotty!

            Cheers!
            Steve.

Here is the code! smiley (my first code back to the community too) cool.
