I asked Kevin about this at the Utrecht expo and he said they already had some sort of schedule system that they used internally and they had plans to roll something out, so I'd be interested to hear how that's coming along or what's on the cards.

I'm interested also. I have one site in particular that is rather reliant on CRON, or something similar and I'd love to get it moved into Cloud eventually.

I'm not up to date on progress/plans for what Kevin mentioned at MODXpo, but for a simple implementation you could use getCache to run a snippet every so often easily.

Ya but that would affect front end performance. Script hits a large API can't be triggered by client actions

Sure, it would affect a single front end performance request.
With some creativity, you could use getCache to place some async javascript in the page that hits another file through AJAX. Your large API would be in that other file. Users shouldn't notice anything in that case.

Ya I mean I say forget the Evo > Revo tool and let's see scheduling features! Who's with me?
(judging by feedback at MODXpo Utrecht, likely no one)
