~sub-folder issue

Hi,

I'm having some issues with my site now. Everytime I click on a link, the URL adds a "sub-folder" with "~" before the sub-folder name. Would anyone know how to fix this?

For example, my website is:

http://www.domainname.com/

And if I click on one of the links (Ex. About page - about.html), I see a "~sub-folder" like this:

http://www.domainname.com/~domain/about.html

Any ideas why I see a "sub-folder"?

I'm running MODX Revolution 2.2.6-pl (traditional) on a Linux server.

What's in your .htaccess file?

Also, check the paths in the below files:

core/config/config.inc.php.
Check all:

/* PATHS */

$modx_core_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/';
$modx_processors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/model/modx/processors/';
$modx_connectors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/connectors/';

If you are also moving your site into or out of a subfolder, be sure to update the variables such as $modx_connectors_url, $modx_manager_url, and $modx_base_url. They should generally
end with a slash (e.g., $modx_base_url='/' for a site not in a subfolder).

There are also 3 additional configuration files that contain two PHP constants:

define('MODX_CORE_PATH', '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/');
define('MODX_CONFIG_KEY', 'config');

/config.core.php
/connectors/config.core.php
/manager/config.core.php

Did you have a temporary directory on the server with MODX installed prior to moving DNS?

Yes, I had a temporary directory when i was building the site. Then i remember pointing to the correct DNS after. Hmm what could be the solution? Would appreciate any tips

hi frogabog, thanks for the info! i edited the core/config/config.inc.php, i removed the ~subfolder folder in $modx_connectors_url, $modx_manager_url, and $modx_base_url.

the 3 other files that you mentioned i did not touch because there's no ~subfolder info there.

i uploaded the config file, refreshed the pages, used different browsers but i still see the ~subfolder.

hmmm what if totally delete all files, then reinstall everything? do you think it could solve my problem? the website is not that complicated yet, so i'm thinking i'll just re-do everything. but my worry is that i might still end up seeing the ~subfolder. any tips?

i was about to delete everything, then i decided to clear cache, flush all sessions, then tried logging in again and it worked! i don't see the ~subfolder anymore! thanks for the tip!

i'm happy now, i don't need to reinstall everything
