Hi, I have got involved in a community/charity web site after the author passed away unexpectedly. So I'm very new to MODx, I have read thru the manuals and as much content as I can find, but can't solve this problem.

The previous author was using "Web Links" for mailto and external site links, these didn't work, so after a reading the manuals, I have tried using chunks (?)

These didn't work either, I add the html, hit save, go back in and the html has changed, from

    <a href="mailto:[email protected]?subject=MySubject">Send email</a>
    to
    <a href=\"mailto:[email protected]?subject=MySubject\">Send email</a>

and rendered in the browser with the site name preceding the URL to get even worse

This is a an externally hosted site and we aren't sure yet what the arrangement is for application support, eg ssh login, updating apache rewrite rules etc

As this is an old version of evo, 1.0.2 (with friendly URLs), I setup something similar in AWS using 1.0.7 - on that installation everything works fine

Have I missed something simple? or do you think I need some tweaks to the rewrite rules?

thanks, I think your spot on, it's On according to MODx Reports>System Info>phpinfo()

It was off in my test AWS image, and switching it on, gave me the same errors

much appreciated, saved my potentially endless hours of searching
