Permission denied when moving file to subdirectory.

Hi everyone,

Okay, so maybe this sounds like a very stupid question but unfortunately i'm not getting any further with this. So i made an access policy for content managers on a website, to restrict some things like deleting directories etc. Though i would like to give the content manager permission to move a file from the 'images' directory to a subdirectory within this same directory. As a full granted admin i can just drag the files to a different directory, but this doesn't work for the content manager. I was looking through all the different permissions within the access policy but i can't find the right one, does anyone know which permission is needed to move files between directories?

I did searched the forum, but i didn't really seem to find a clear answer.

I believe to move a file you need to be able to create and delete files, as (unless I am mistaken) what actually happens is that the file is created in the new location and deleted in the old location.

Unfortunately it seems that this solution isn't working, i still get the permission denied alert. Thanks for your quick reply, i'm still searching the forums but i can't seem to find a solution. It seems that my access policies do work but i just can't get this to work.

Well, I'm not all that sure about permissions myself; I keep putting off doing a serious study of exactly how they work.

I can see why now, the permissions, resource groups, access policies and all that safety stuff used to be so easy in Evolution. Okay, they probably are better now but i wish they would have bin just a little bit easier to understand.

I also thought that it might had something to do with the create and delete permissions within the access policy but that doesn't seem right. However i'm convinced that someone might have had trouble with this before.

directory_update is what needs to be enabled. Be sure to flush permissions and sessions.
