    Hello,

    My first post!

I've just upgraded a site from 0.9.6.3 to 1.0.7 but there appears to be a problem with editing.

Edits to resource content do appear but if I edit again the last changes are lost. Cache is on.

Is this a problem or am I doing something wrong?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Could you give us some further information such as what browser you are using, your hosting environment, and what steps are you using to edit the site?

We still use Evolution on a lot of sites, and haven't encountered this issue with upgrades.

Thanks Patrick for getting in touch.

I've tested in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer (all latest versions) and we use TinyMCE (Version: 3.3.9.2 (2010-09-29)) as the editor.

It's hosted on a Ubuntu server version 9 and all I'm doing is pressing edit in the manager to edit the particular page.

        This is a test page:

        http://ac.demo.me.uk/media-centre/press-releases/baby-boomers-are-draining-nhs-resources-through-alcohol-misuse

But the hyperlink to the harm map on the above page doesn't appear when editing the page; the old one does instead. I'm assuming it's something to do with caching.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Is the resource set to "clear cache" in its Settings tab?

Yes both cacheable and empty cache are ticked.

I'm not sure it this helps but after unticking the cacheable when I clear the cache I get this error:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /var/www/html/site28/web/assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php on line 2389

            and

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /var/www/html/site28/web/assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php on line 2389

You can empty that cache file; it may be corrupted.

                Thanks for the suggestion.

I've now done this but it doesn't appear to make a difference.

Still what I see when I edit and preview is different.

Interestingly though I don't seem to be getting the above errors though.

I would appreciate any further thoughts.

After you edit, what's in the database?

                    Good question.

The changes don't appear to be getting to the database.

I've also just noticed in System Information:

                    Database Charset latin1
                    Database Collation Charset latin1_swedish_ci

I'm based in the UK so I wonder if this is an issue?

I've now changed the database to utf8_general_ci but still edits aren't being saved to the database.

I would welcome some other suggestions.
