I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this question but here i go.

I currently have a web site running with php fusion that i am not happy with.

Is it posible to install modx in a subdirectory of the root folder to let me set up my new site while keeping the old on running. Then when i happy with the modx site, delte the php fusiion one and move the modx to the root directory?

If the above is not posible is there an other way i can set up my modx site and not delete my old one till i am happy with the modx site?

Yes, MODx works just fine from a subdirectory. Just make sure that all of your internal MODx links (images, etc) are relative links to make the move later; or you may decide to leave it in the subdirectory since it doesn’t make a lot of difference.

Pay attention to the .htaccess file if you want to use friendly URLs.
      # Make sure RewriteBase points to the directory where you installed MODx.
      # E.g., "/modx" if your installation is in a "modx" subdirectory.
