I’ve got a problem with uploading files through the Manage Files tab that I’ve been unable to troubleshoot.
What’s happening is that when I try to upload a file, the page (file manager frame) refreshes but there is no error and the file is not uploaded. I’ve checked all of the configurations, Uploadable File Types (in the Configuration menu) is set correctly, my admin user permissions are set to Use System Configuration Settings, and Max Upload Size in MODx is set to 52428800 (1GB, just so I’m not getting blocked from the manager). PHP upload_max_filesize is set to 30MB, and that shows up correctly when viewing phpinfo();
Here’s where it gets really weird - I can upload a file that is under 10K, even if it’s file type isn’t in the list of Uploadable File Types allowed. Uploading a 1K txt file works and gives me the green text at the top saying it was successful. Uploading an 8K .gif image works as well, even though ’gif’ is not in the Uploadable File Types menu. But when I upload a 12K .gif, it doesn’t work - the page refreshes and there is no error. Uploading a 400K PDF seems to work (the browser churns a bit as it uploads the file) but once the upload to the server is complete, the page refreshes and the file is not there. No errors either.
We have another MODx install for a different website on the same server (both 0.9.6) which works just fine, and an exact replica of the site (the one giving us file manager problems) on our development server (which is configured the same as our live server) which works fine as well. The only difference between the two MODx sites is that this one is slightly more complex in Admin/User/Web User permissions.
So I’m at a loss as to where to look to see what might be going on with the manager. I should also note that there are no PHP errors being written to the log file, and no javascript errors showing up either. I’ve reinstalled the manager folder from a fresh download of MODx.
Any ideas?
