I just loaded TinyMCE today. It's fine for a blog or simple site but unusable for this CMS. How has it lasted this long?
I put [[something]] into a resource and it wraps it as <p>[[something]]</p>. I've tried to set properties and even edit the source, but I can't easily stop that behavior.
Any quick solutions before I trash this?
I used to be a FCK fan. Going to try the latest CKEditor plugin update and see how it goes.
Thanks.
BTW, flags I set in the source (not sure if they really "took") :
forced_root_block : false,
force_p_newlines : 'false',
remove_linebreaks : false,
force_br_newlines : false,
remove_trailing_nbsp : false,
verify_html : false
Loved ModX when I was using it a few years ago. Shifted to WordPress, sorry. Thanks, all.

Yes, it's a pain. It's really only useful in the case of clients who can't figure out how to use the basic <h?> and <p> tags when editing content.
CKEditor will wrap your tag in a paragraph only on Enter key pressing, but later you can remove this wrapper (unfortunately, Format combobox does not allow to do it, so you have to switch to source and remove it by manually).
I have disabled `autoParagraph` setting of CKEditor, but CKEditor needs some fixes (the initial format should be `paragraph` and paragraph must be toggled using Format combobox)
By the way, you can just wrap your tag into div, this works with both editors.

Someday I want to dive into CKEditor and add MODx tags ([[ ... ]]) to its code so that it will simply ignore the tags and everything inside of them. TinyMCE used to have a plugin that behaved in a similar manner with specified tags, but it actually made it treat the tags like HTML comments, ignoring them but also not showing them in the content. I'd rather they get ignored, but displayed.
I'm going to do it myself. CKEditor has the same plugin. The problem only is nested modx-tags - it is not enough to use simple regexp's to catch modx tags.
Thanks for the responses.
About wrapping in div tags, I didn't try that, but I did wrap my tags in Span and it insisted on wrapping the Span tags within P tags! TinyMCE also forces CDATA wrappers in scripts and does other annoying things. I'd rather not deal with it. I've completely UNinstalled TinyMCE. Though in poking at the code yesterday I saw places where the above mentioned changes could have been implemented. There's just no time and I'm not qualified. Poof! Next!
I've installed CKEditor v1.1.0. BTW, I see you made a change in there for the Ctrl+S shortcut, another huge pain in TinyMCE.
I'll comment on the CK plugin itself in the appropriate thread.
Regards and Thanks!
