When I try to use a different template for other pages than the Home/frontpage they default to the Home's template and content. When I disable friendly URLs, they use the proper template and pull the content from the page. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Have you renamed the ht.access file to .htaccess ( via FTP / file browser on the server ?) as it sounds like it's displaying the 404 page and not the actual resource.
Good catch. That was it. Figured it had to be something simple. I was just using the default .htaccess file previously.
