I am trying to create a portfolio site, where the title of the project has a thumbnail of it next to it. One one page you’d see a list of the projects and their thumbnails, and then clicking on a project would give you a description and more thumbnails that you could click on to see a bigger image (maybe with lightbox or something).

Any idea how I would tackle this?

I’ve done this using Template Variables, and initially LightBox (although didnt like loading time). An image tv is created and assigned to the portfolio template. Then when creating or editing documents within portfolio’s just select an image to use as the projects image. Then a snippet is used to output the thumbnail for the projects.

      1. Create an [Image] Template Variable, and assign to template (in this case portfolio)
      2. Edit Projects, and select images to use for each project.
      3. Create Snippet to list projects, and display thumbnails (or generate thumbnails for large image)

There is a thumb snippet in the repository that works well for me with Ditto.

        Cheers,

Great! Thank you both. I created the ProjectImage template variable and assigned it to the template I’m using. However, when I go to edit the individual project (in the document list), I don’t see a field for the ProjectImage anywhere. Is there somewhere else it shows up?

It should show directly below the Document content Part... as long as TV is Image type, and that document and Template has access to the tv, it should come up....ill post a screenshot once i access pc.

OK, I found it! The thing is, when I go to upload an image, I get a "broken image" placeholder. What would cause that?

Secondly... the snippet part. I made a snippet called [[DisplayDocs]] and then I’m lost and the documentation isn’t helping me out. I want to put [[Display Docs]] in the body of the Project List document and have it display a list of each of the projects with a thumbnail in front of each that corresponds to the project. I can’t seem to find an example like this in the documentation. How should I go about it?
