    Dear MODX people,

I'd like to setup a new site and I am wondering how the best way might look like.

Situation: I am a runner. I'd like to know where people meet to go running together on a weekly basis.

The data I'd like to enter will contain:

    • city
    • day of the week
    • time
    • location
    • optional link
    • optional contact

User should get these informations when they enter the location in a search form. Maybe store that location in a cookie.

I think it's too much to enter each meeting point and time in a MODX resource and get them via getResources with a TV filter. How would you do it?

    Cheers,

    Guido

You might be able to do something with a combination of the StoreLocator and mxCalendar extras using a resource containing a calendar for each city's "events" per month. If the resource contained a list of events, it should be searchable. mxCalendar has category and separate calendar functionality. First locate your city's events via postal code, show a map with marker, link to the resource of calendar from map, and show list (with ajax modal view details if you want).

          Thank you for your replies!

My hope was to get FURL out of it. Like site.com/city/day -> all events
That wouldnt be so hard, but I want it to be possible for user to enter new meeting points by themselves. I'll see how I can archieve that. By now, it looks like I should prefer CakePHP on this task.
