MIGXdb CMP Permissions Issue

I just used MIGXdb to create an events manager CMP (from documentation tutorial) and I am having trouble allowing our site editors to access and utilize that CMP. Under their accounts I always get a blank page stating "Error Access denied!" when clicking on the menu item that should take them to the CMP.
The access control policy is a slightly modified version of the standard "content editor" policy, but with the ability to view the components menu and save/publish resources. Can anyone tell me how to grant them access to this CMP? Thanks!
