Hi all,
Brand new poster here. I have a client who is need of transferring their ModX website to a different host but I personally have never dealt with the CMS. In the past I have done many different site creations utilizing Wordpress and Drupal, but never have done anything with ModX.
Is there any literature on transferring modx sites that I can reference? I have FTP access and have backed all files up locally, but I've read it's not good to use an FTP program for transferring the ModX files.
Another thing, I do not have access to the UI, so I am not sure how to actually check the version of ModX this site is using. There are different versions of ModX from the support readings I have done (Like Evolution and Revolution) so I need to make sure of the version the site is currently using.
Like I said, this is quite sudden and the client only needs the site moved, that is all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They are pretty badly informed and the web developer who created the site left his job years ago and is not within reach for contact.
