Listing articles from a article container

Hello. I'd like to know if it is possible to list articles for a specific article container.
For example, a container named "A" has several articles and if it is possible to list them all in one page.

The same apllied to "B" and "C" and so on.

And also if it is possible in the listing of the articles to sort from diferent TVs. Ex: Year (manually typed) or Genre dynamically, being, without resorting to another new page for each specific sort.

I don't know if I made myself clear, but I tried.

To me it looks like that could be easily achieved with getResources (http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Articles.Retrieving+Articles+Outside+of+Articles + http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/getResources) with a specific setup of &sortbyTV=``and &sortdirTV=``matching to your needs of sorting and or selecting specific articles?

maybe there would even be an option "within" articles (but basically they are just a custom resource type), but I'm not very familiar with it, so I can't tell =)
