Anyone ever thought, "If I could convert every chunk, template, and resource to static, I'd have a darn easy way to pass them from one install to another"?

No, this will be much better once I learn how to do it properly

OK, yes. I agree. For the purpose stated in my post.
But what about just wanting to get everything into static files so one can edit outside of MODX. I still want that sometimes. I'm still not fond of editing within MODX, regardless of text editor. I like my Filezilla settings and plugins way too much.
MyComponent has an option that makes any element it creates static. You might look at the code to see how to do it, though the code is kind of scattered.
Also, making everything static still wouldn't make it easy to move because after moving the files, you'd have to edit every element and set the path.
I think you'd be happier just listing everything in a project config file and using MyComponent's Export Objects utility. That would also give you an automatic transport file to install everything.

OK, I'll check it out. I probably won't be picking apart your code. As if... I could piece your code together to roll my own. haha... what kind of frog do you think I am Bob?
A frog with attitude?
