I am using the default QUIP code for my commenting using Articles as found in core/components/quip/elements/chunks/...

The "Notify Me of New Replies" functionality is doing nothing, and is stuck on the "Unsubscribe Me from this Thread" option (despite the fact that no notifications are received).

Any idea why the "Notify Me of New Replies" functionality would not be working, when I am using the supplied code? Are there System Settings or something else that I need to set up? I have looked but cannot see anything obvious - to me anyway smiley

    Using:
    MODX Revolution 2.2.2-pl (traditional)
    Articles 1.6.3
    Quip 2.3.2

    Thanks for your help!

I think there needs to be a proper SMTP setup under "system settings > email" to allow modx to send emails... do you have that? Or do you have any Quip specific error messages in the error log?

Are other mail functionalities working with your installation? For example, try setting up a new user, enter your mail address and then check send password by mail. In this way, you can check whether the MTA of you server is working.

Actually, I have the same problem. My installation can send mails, but quip does not. Might be a bug.

I have my SMTP User set up correctly and working.

I don't get any QUIP error messages in the error log.

Thanks for your interest. Any further ideas?

Yes, the other mail functionalities are working fine. So yes, the same problem as you.

I just had a look at a site where I got Quip working, it's a 2.2.4pl site with quip 2.3.1 (for some reason 2.3.2 was there/downloaded but obviously uninstalled, not sure what was the problem that I uninstalled, but with 2.3.1 it seems to work...maybe try that out?)

              I call it like this:

              [[!QuipReply?
              	&thread=`blog-post-[[*id]]`
              	&moderate=`1`
              	&moderators=`me,editor`
              	¬ifyEmails=`[email protected],[email protected]`
              	&closeAfter=`0`
              	&useGravatar=`0`
              	&autoConvertLinks=`1`
              	&tplAddComment=`blogpost.commentForm`
              	&tplPreview=`blogpost.previewTpl`
              	&requirePreview=`0`
              ]]
