Decided to try out modx.1.0.6. I initially developed my site locally and then tried to migrate it onto the live server. The installation seemed to go smoothly however when I try to access the manager page I get the "Failed to create the database connection!" screen.
The database info appears to be correct in my config.inc.php file and the site is rendering correctly on the front end (which means that the database is being accessed to retrieve the templates, etc) but I cannot access through manager! I'm going crazy!
I have tried to do a reinstall/upgrade and have tried changing some permissions to the manager files but I do not seem to be getting anywhere.
If anybody can provide me some guidance I would really appreciate it. Any other info needed please let me know.

I tried to find something similar in the forum and did not see anything that had the same problem. If there is already a thread for this kind of error please direct me there

Does your db user have full privileges?

Do you have a ' or ; in your database password, if so try changing it.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the other person who posted that a site duplicated to another server was saving to both databases? Is the database connection information for the manager being cached somewhere?
