I was wondering if I can just delete the packages files with .zip under de core (core/packages) and also the maps with older versions (like now there is articles-1.4.3 and articles 1.4.7 and 1.6.0 etc), can I only keep the last one? Why? I takes in a lot of space.
If you just want to try to delete the previous packages, try to click "View Details" button from the package list, see "Uploaded Versions" tab, right click on a version, "Remove"

OK, but is it save to do this also on the FTP?
Not a good idea, as there are a number of places where information about these packages is stored. Just deleting the physical files won't remove all the metadata referring to the package.

I deleted the files throught FTP and only left the last versions (I had no other solution, because I was on the limit of webspace and the manager wouldn't start correctly. Then I did the update to latest version op Modx (2.2.6)). Everythings works fine and I get no error. So I should say: yes you may delete older files in packages, but Sottwell may have a point with the metadata referring. I just see no problems.
