    Hello,

I am new to ModX and I want to try it out but I get the following error after I make a clean (successful) installation and login to the manager.

    About my system:
    Windows 7, 64bits.
    I'm using 64bit WAMP Server - Apache 2.2.22 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.3.13 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1.

First I though is a problem with my firewall, so I disable my Windows 7 firewall (also disabled my Microsoft security essentials).
The error was still there. After that I restarted my web server, that did not work out. Reinstalling my WAMP server did not work out either.

I tried searching in the Internet for the users with the same error as mine and I got that:
https://forums.modx.com/thread/76303/problem-with-the-moving-site-to-the-testing-host (Unfortunatelly this did not work out for me). Also when I login in the manager the error message blocks my browser tab (tried: IE, Chrome, FireFox but the browser tab always freezes).

Can someone help me out, because I really want to check out this piece of software?

    Regards,
    Wicked Raven

the external feeds for security/announcements integration into the dashboard seem to be down - and these are generating the errors - so there's not necessarily anything wrong with your install smiley

        Hello Christian,

Thank you for your reply. Could you tell me what can I do in order to disable those feeds, because currently after I login and those errors show up on the screen the tab just freezes and I can't do anything?

        Regards.

Update: Looks like the feed got back up and now I don't see the errors. I find it kind of weird that if an external service is down I won't be able to get into my manager panel :\

Those errors shouldn't be preventing you from accessing the manager, they will just be an annoyance on the manager dashboard page.
In any case, you can disable the feeds by going to your system settings page and changing the following settings to 'Off':

            feed_modx_news_enabled
            feed_modx_security_enabled
