    I wonder if anyone has encountered this error with QuickEdit.

    I have just made a new install of a MODX 0.9.6 on my local server (Apache, WinXP).

    Without doing ANYTHING else, when I try and view the site when logged into the Manager I get the error:

    PHP error debug
    Error: include_once(assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: D:\my_docs\wwwroot\modx_test\manager\includes\document.parser.class.inc.php(742) : eval()’d code
    Line: 70

    When I log out of Manager then the site loads ok. It seems like this should be a simple problem of paths or something? Any ideas?

    Thanks

    AJ

      First, have you confirmed the file D:\my_docs\wwwroot\modx_test\assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php exists and is readable by the web server?

        Yes it exists and, as far as I know, is readable.

        Excuse me if I’m being dumb, but how do i confirm the web server can read it?

        If i try and send a browser directly to the file I dont get anything, but I shouldn’t be able to browse to it surely?

        Thanks

          How is your include_path variable set in the PHP configuration? It seems like it’s not looking in the right place for the files, and my guess is an incorrect include_path.

            My Include path has nothing in it specifically regarding this MODx installation.

            Do I have to put folders specific to this MODx installation in my include path then?

            I don’t recall seeing anything in the installation instructions about this. Excuse me if I’ve just failed to read something properly!

              After some investigation it seems there is something very strange going on with all the paths in my installation.

              There’s a line in the QuickEdit code as follows:

               if(!isset($mod_path)) { $mod_path = $modx->config[\'base_path\'].\'assets/modules/quick_edit\'; }

              Having spotted this I tried setting the ’Module Path’ config setting for the QuickEdit module to blank. This got the QuickEdit file to be finally found by the include_once, but now all the include statements inside
              quick_edit\output.class.inc.php
              are now failing.

              I also tried setting ’Module Path’ for Quick Edit as the full path to quick edit but this also caused late include stmts inside the QuickEdit classes to fail.

              THere must be some fuindamental problem occuring with the resolution of certain config paths in my installation, but I cannot for the life of me see what. To make matters worse, I have other, previous MODx sites installed and running with no problems!

              Any ideas?
