I have tried to utilize mxCalendar, ChurchEventsCalendar and eventsCalendar2, and none really do what I need. I want to use resources as events but using Autofolders to organize the resources just doesn't cut it. This needs to be VERY easy for users and not take me forever to build.
How difficult would it be to modify the Articles system to display the generated resources in the manager with the 'Published On' column being replaced by a date tv? I could then just sort by that tv in the blog settings and I would have a highly customizable system for listing events. If I wanted to display events in a calendar form, I would just use the eventsCalendar2 snippet. No need for repeating events.
I'm not sure exactly how difficult it would be to change the grid columns to display a tv, could anyone give me an idea how how to proceed? I'm trying to save myself the headache of making a custom resource type from scratch.

MIGx is absolutely brilliant. In my opinion, at least, Bruno has created the 'killer' app for MODx. Any time I have something in the nature of a list of any kind I can be quite sure that MIGx will take care of it for me.
Now one thing I would like to be good enough with it would be to figure out how to make this a TV to the parent resource, instead of a CMP in the Manager. Although maybe QuickBar could be used to load the CMP easily for the user. Hmmm...I wonder if CMPs can be assigned to resource groups, or in some other way a mgr context user could be limited to a single CMP page.
