If you have MIGX installed, you can create a package-folder, write schema, parse schema, create tables, add and remove fields by some mouseclicks

you can buy me a beer, if you like MIGX

Well, i did that, beacause the custom tables do not have a prefix. Or should they have one?

you can give them a custom-prefix before running write schema.
This way write schema will only write xml-schemas for your custom-tables.
After that, I would remove the custom-prefix and add the default modx_ - prefix to your tables.

Gave them a custom prefix, but absolutely nothing happens.
Im digging in deeper as to why there is nothing happening.

php has write-permissions to your packages-folder?

I would highly recommend taking an hour or so out, and following this guide (http://bobsguides.com/custom-db-tables.html) start to finish - not only for getting it to work, but more importantly, learning what advantage using XPDO will give you in your projects.

Once you start using database's queries and data as objects - you will never look back!

That has been added to my agenda, i actually read it top to bottom and do understand it's purpose but simply cannot get it to work. I'll read it again tommorow, maybe i've missed something. Just to be in the clear here, i never wanted just to get ready to go code and wave goodbye but i want to understand and learn what xpdo and more important revolution can do.

That's exactly what i was going for. ;-)

Found why it was doing nothing. .htacces made the url rewrite to an old template and stopped on an error that was set to hidden.
