    Hi,

New to Modx since I've just discovered only just recently. I'm currently adding modx support to a custom login handler which will allow a user to authenticate with Modx Evo/Revo board. The goal I want to achieve is authenticate a player for a texas hold'em game providing he/she has already registered to a Modx board. Thus, I'm looking for info how to differentiate the two versions to apply the correct hashing password algorithm.

Is this info stored somewhere in the database which I need to retrieve some specific field and check its value?

For Evo, the hashing is already done and working but I see that Revo is using PBKDF2 to hash the password, could you tell me the number of iterations set, the desired key length and the hashing method used (sha1 or sha256?). I'm missing something to get a match from my hashing password with salted key to the one stored in the database.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

You sould set the hash_class to hashing.modMD5 then you can use the old MD5 hashes. When the password is changed, the new saver hashing will be used.

Thx! Yes, I can see the value is stored on the database.

Btw, I manage to get the password matched for Revo, I missed an easy step to get a match with the one stored on the database.
Authentication is pretty complex though! smiley
