This was posted in the plugins and snippets forum by another user, but I’ve re-posted it here as I think it relates more to MODx in general.

If, for example, you add a TV with a type of "file" - e.g. in one template I want documents to have a different picture, and for the user to select the image for the document from the /assets/images directory - but, the resource browser defaults to /assets/files (and no, the system configuration settings don’t help as they’re all pointing to the /assets folder.)

Any way we can change this?

    Thanks.

As I said in my first post, the settings in the MODx manager don’t help - they’re all pointing to the "assets" directory - none of them are saying to point to "assets/files", yet in a TV set to type file, it only shows the "assets/files" directory and doesn’t let me browse further up the tree (i.e. to images.)

In other words, the TV type ’file’ adds "/files" to the browser path - where can I change this so it points to just "assets" instead?

        My settings are:

        Resource path: /path/to/website/assets/
        Resource URL: http://website/assets/
        File manager path: /path/to/website/

The above are the same for the users as well.

No probs, just found what I need - there’s a TV type called "image" which opens the resource browser to "assets/images" - which does the trick!
