    Hi,

Returning ModX user here smiley. Since I have last used it (2004/2005), a lot has changed. I read that ModX supports multiple websites, and I have a question about that.

Current setup of my static HTML website:

    www.mydomain.com - the main website
    topic1.mydomain.com
    topic2.mydomain.com
    topic3.mydomain.com

In my FTP, the subdomains are listed as subdirectories in the root of my main website. With this server setup, will I be able to use the multiple sites function in Modx? And does that take more work than just creating a context where the subdomain is specified? I am not sure if I understood it correctly.

    Thanks in advance smiley

Ben, Your tutorial was extemely helpful. Any chance of expanding/updating it for 2.2.5/6+ so that it includes user/group permissions so individual users could login to the specific contexts? The original complexity of modx ACL stuff had been doing my head in. I'm sure others too. smiley

You don't need a complex setup procedure. Simply use the superb ContextRouter plugin of Mark Hamstra (it will do all the stuff from the above tutorials for you) und you will have a multi domain/sub domain site up and running within 15 minutes.

Thank you smiley But how do I know my server is equipped to do that? I am not sure if my server supports the solution provided in the tutorials above.

There is nothing special you have to do on the server nor are there any special server requirements!
You only need to point all domains/subdomains to the same webroot.
Normally your provider will do this for you - or maybe you can edit your domain pointings for your self?
