I intend to use MODx for some kind of project management.

How do I allow only logged-in editors (managers) see the pages of my site?

I use [[ManagerLogin]] snippet which allows managers to log-in from frontend, but currently it doesn’t matter whether they’re logged in or not: any site visitor can see the pages which are supposed to be seen only by those, whom I gave access.

I know it could be done easily through webusers feature, but I don’t want to use it.

Go to Tools > Configuration and change Site status from Online to Offline.
Then change the Site unavailable page ID to a MODx document with the login form.

      This should work smiley

Indeed, exactly how I wanted it to work.

In [[ManagerLogin]] I also placed Header(’Location: main.html’);, so if you’re logged in, it redirects you from the login page to the main page of the private area (those who’ve dealt with the ManagerLogin snippet know what I mean).
