can't create resource group

Hello,

i can't create resource groups, if i try it won't let me save it - i push the button and the bar moves until 1/5, but its no group appearing at all.

Try clearing cache manually, flush permissions, then try again. If that does work, can you share about your install, is this new, did the trouble just start on an existing site, ect ect...

Thanks for your response, i alread flushed permissions, this does not help, i also restarted the server ... nothing seems to help.

This is a fresh installation, i am running Centos 6.3/Plesk 11 + newest apache/php/mysql everything is up to date what else could i inform you about ?

Sounds like some files didn't make It over, I'd reupload and try again

how do you mean ? repairinstallation ? I installed it from a locally extracted zip file.
how can i check if the installation is ok ? is there a list of files to compare or something ?
i doubt that this installation is not complete.

if i have to reinstall, can i somehow keep the actual settings and projects i already started
working and that problem appeared later

Did you use FTP to upload the extracted files to the server? If so, then there very well may be some corrupted or missing files. FTP is not reliable enough with such a load of files, and does miss or corrupt them more often than preferable.

To re-install, follow the instructions for upgrading MODX. You'll need to upload a fresh copy of the MODX.zip file to your server (can use ftp for this). Then, extract the files ON the server itself (do this in the file manager from your control panel, or perhaps it will be a script for extracting files). Merge all these extracted files with your current installation files (most times copy works fine, although if you see a merge option, use that). Then re-run setup.

Don't forget to log out of the manager and clear the core/cache files before running setup.

Re-installing is something you can do any time you think you might need to. It's a very safe and easy procedure once you do it a couple times. Can't hurt much if at all, especially if it's the same version.

The basic installation documentation now details using the server extraction as opposed to FTP, which hopefully will clear up the confusion solve a lot of problems before they become problems from now on. I thought the upgrading page also got updated, but I will check to be sure.

Thats how i installed it, that zip file is on the server and can't be corrupted, because it extracts correctly

Will my Projects/Packages/Settings be lost, if i use upgrade installation procedure ?

I will now install the same Version on a Virtual Machine on my Desktop to be able to compare the file structure, as there seems nobody to know, how i could do it easier.

I am still pretty sure, the installation is complete and it has to do with CentOs and/or permissions, that it is not working correctly.

Nothing will be lost if you upgrade. MODx is designed to be upgradable.

Ok i just upgraded advanced mode and after finish i get this error message in the executive summary :

Pretty sure that's fine, since things already exist in the database you'll get some errors, they're not really bad in this case
